Thanks for these updates and your hard work, NightOwl!

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be any major protesting on Tuesday (today)?
Just curious.

Thanks for all your hard - and balanced - work, NiteOwl!
Could you tell which time zone your 'tonight or tomorrow' is in? Maybe use GMT?
Thanks again!

This is huge. Chomsky. I don't even have words to express what I think about that. Hell yeah! I can only say that now I am more proud of myself then ever to be supporting this cause.

Default Waiting for your report

You're all very much appreciated and admired for your determination in getting out this brief every night!

I'm waiting to read the report on torture that you'll be putting out - hopefully the report will make it to important hands and generate action. Is this going to be a daily report also?

I'm going to have to agree with a prior posting, that Khamenei is the worst offender in creating violence in Iran and that by threatening the ruling class he's igniting a potentially more dangerous anger and violence! I was also thrilled to hear Mousavi speak out about the ridiculousness in blaming foreign governments for the protesting. It's time for the current regime to understand that their propaganda isn't working.

By the way, thanks for answering my question last night.

Thank you

No, the torture report is a one-time only thing. It'll be out in a few hours anyway so you'll see what it is.

Question What is meaning of item 13

.. this item confuses me. One of those things one would ignore. But it got a whole item in this Green Brief Are they looking for more thugs?

13. President-Select Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s office has asked people who want to help the country to come forward and offer their services. According to his office, the government was looking for people to help the president’s administration at different levels and that a committee will soon be formed to recruit such people.

Default thanks for continued great work.

We poor non-farsi speakers would have no idea what is going on without a translator.

Just curious.
From tweets I understand there's something going on - clashes are reported in Tehran and Shiraz. I also saw messages about changed tactics (smaller groups) and different starting times. It seems www.presstv.ir is confirming - sort of - this in the following article...

Tue, 21 Jul 2009 12:48:10 GMT (16.18 local time)

Iran's police chief says the law enforcement forces will 'act firmly' to defend the law against those who seek to 'create sedition and doubt'.

“Some people who failed to reach their goals in the [presidential] election are creating doubts in different ways and then turn these doubts into sedition,” Brig. Gen. Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam said on Tuesday in the holy city of Mashhad.

Ahmadi-Moqaddam added that the law enforcement forces would 'act firmly' in line with 'the defense of the law, the people and the Constitution'.

Tehran's Police Chief Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Radan also warned against holding any illegal protests that would disturb the peace, Fars news agency reported.

“It is the duty of the police to ensure security and order in the society. Therefore any illegal gatherings which may lead to breach of the peace will be firmly dealt with.” Radan said.

The police warning came after unconfirmed reports said that defiant opposition supporters were planning to hold fresh protests in the capital Tehran on Tuesday.

Rejecting the election as rigged, Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, two defeated candidates, have called for the nullification of the results and demanded a re-run.

Protestors took to the streets of Tehran after the Friday prayers which were led by Chairman of Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani who criticized the officials for handling of the presidential election.
He further criticized the defeated candidates who have called for the election results to be annulled.

Riot police used tear gas to disperse the crowd. Iran's police say 40 people were arrested after the Friday sermon.

Former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami said on Sunday that a 'referendum' on the legitimacy of the government was the only way to end the crisis over the recent presidential election.

Also on Sunday, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged the Iranian political elite to avoid moves that play into the hands of the nation's enemies and exercise caution and vigilance when commenting on the country's political situation.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the political figures' failure in this "big test" will lead to their "collapse".
