Default Fail!

OK, think this through. You're trying to find people in Iran who are posting on Twitter. How does finding all the people who have indicated a particular time zone help you? That time zone includes many countries. Remember, time zones are vertical... And even if it did, identifying people who SAY they are in that timezone by using their Twitter names is almost impossible. You would have to hack into Twitter and monitor the ISPs of people who post, as they post. Like Twitter wouldn't know when you do that?

This is another stupid piece of misinformation, like hiding people's user names, that lets people feel like they're part of what's happening in Iran. It just just encourages more people to clog up Twitter with useless, outdated, or completely wrong posts, pretending to be "where the action is".

THat is not true for Iran, because Iran has its own time zone. Usually time zones are on an hourly base, but Iran has GMT + 3:30 for the entire country (this own time zone was created because otherwise the country would have to be solit betwenn 2 hourly-based timezones).

Question

Wouldn't it also make sense for Iranians to avoid using the Iranian time zone? What's to stop them from changing it to anything else?

Exclamation Timezones and locations

I agree. While we here in the rest of the world, change to Tehran locations and timezone. All real Iranians should change to something else!
