Default Iran Analysis: How "Mohareb Death Sentences May Hurt Regime

Iran Analysis: How “Mohareb” Death Sentences May Hurt Regime | Enduring America

MY OWN ANALYSIS:

EXPECT SLOGANS LIKE THIS IN THE NEXT DEMONSTRATION

1. "We are all Mohareb!" (true)

2. "Khamenei isn't Allah and Ahmadinejad isn't his Prophet." ( so bitingly apt)

3. "Why not execute all of us?"

(A logical question for which there is an obvious answer. Moral qualms don't restrain Khamenei since he had repeatedly demonstrated he has none. If the regime could trust rank and file members of the security forces to go along, Khamenei would agree to slaughter millions. You can bet that many retired or cashiered former IRCG officers are in contact with former colleagues)

EVIDENCE SUGGESTS KHAMENEI IS THE WORLD'S SLOWEST LEARNER

A. Intimdation is failing to intimidate,

B. The harsher Khamenei gets, the more people he drives into the opposition. That includes many conservativers in the regime's ranks.

A DOWNFALL SCENARIO BEGINS WITH HARDLINER FLEEING ABROAD

Not every hardliner is totally stupid. Sensing the uncoming tide, one of the biggest criminals--unable to join the opposition--will join his family on a one-way trip to Venuzuela.

One such defection could do the job. The regime will try to conceal that defection but fail, thanks to too many opposition sympathizers within its ranks. As news spreads, other major criminals will ask: "What does he know that we don't?" Despite reassurances that it's safe to stay, others will decide to "get while the going is good."

With each defection will come further flight. Meanwhile imagine the effect of such news on the security services. Its akin to risking death in combat in the final days of World War II--the time when units would surrender en masse to an oncoming forces.

THERE IS ONE SIGN THE OPPOSITION HARDLY NEEDS

"This is an unislamic regime without scruples or morality!"

Anyone opposition protestor carrying such a sign would be targeted immediately. Ironicallly there is no need to do so. Khamenei's regime has done the job for the opposition. If anyone still had any doubts, the upcoming Mohareb trials should do the job neicely. Yes, this regime reallly is stupid enough to offer the opposition more Nedas.

This stupid and self-defeating strategy reflects the narrow education of those who rule the coup government: men who spent their formative years in memorization-based, Yadzi-style religious schools where history and the social sciences are verboten.

Better educated types, familiar with history, would not even attempt such crude tactics against a sophisticated and education people totally aware of the freedoms enjoyed by millions a few hundred miles away.

Whatever Khamenei. the Yadzis and Ahmadinejad may believe, they cannot turn Iran into Burma, Zimbabwe, North Korea or South Waziristan. Nor can the regime simultaneous hope for respect while attempting to induce fear.

I suspect a number of shrewd insiders have finally figured out all this. However, such people must also grasp that too many bridges have been burned for any reform or unity government to work now. Major League criminals now have just two choices: They can continue on a fatal course aboard a sinking ship or they can flee while there is still time to get away.

If it wasn't that tragic one would have to laugh and laugh at the stupidity of this regime and it's apologists...

They seem to expect that, if they suppress and torture their citizens just enough, people will finally come around and realize that they're not suppressive torturers...
