That is a coward's line, assuming there are no nefarious hidden agendas at play. Either way it is weak and a shame.

I really wonder, does our government (the American government) really want the fanatics out of power, or is that all just an act. Anyone with a decent bone in their body would want to help the Iranian people and end their suffering. I cannot honestly believe our government would not want the same. But sometimes I wonder. Things like this make me wonder. The VOA is a government-funded group. They answer to the same people who cut the funding to the pro-democracy groups once Obama got into power. What are they thinking?

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I never liked the Fox news style reporting of VOA Persian service. I know they have very limited budget and have a hard time accessing news inside the country, but I sometimes think they might be doing more damage than good even if it's not their intention. They might wanna look at BBC Persian for ideas and learn a bit.

You make it sound as though you have a problem with 'Fox New style'... It's different, to put it mildly. And that's why it's number one rated for news reporting here in the states, across the board.

They profess to do a "We report. You decide." And do a pretty good job of living up to just that.

I form my own opinions, I don't need DNCNN, MSLSD or CNBC (plus CBS, NBC, ABC) reporting to me what my opinion should be based on a specific news item! That's why these cable channels don't get watched in my home, or much of anywhere else.

In that regard, Fox works very well for me.

In addition, here in the states they've devoted a good bunch of coverage to our Tea Party Patriots. A move to take our country back from some very perverted politicians bent on destroying the very foundation America was built on.

With genealogy research, and family input, I have roots going back to our days of the Continental Army, Revolutionary War, and before - my going Tea Party here is in my blood.

Along with that, I wish the people of Iran the very best! My heart is with you!!!

On VOA-PNN, they were defunded to a degree sometime recently, to what degree I have no idea, they've also been restructured considerably, and from my readings it looks like this is the biggest part of the problem, along with not having a good, general direction laid out for them currently.

Obama is running America these days. VOA-PNN is just one of many items he's hosed. But we're fortunate, he's just a Jimmy Carter one-termer. When we dump him in 2012, we can get busy and correct lots of crap he was responsible for.

Though I've traveled the world a little bit, I've never been in a one-party state, or a state with a national religion. I can see the damage it's doing... Looks like a sad scenario for the people, to me...

You don't?

That speaks not for the Fox news style but against you...

That reminds me of what a college friend of mine told me. Well-intentioned, but not very bright:

Nice girl, but not very bright. I'm not what you'd call "liberal", but I know what Fox News is.
