Re: 1983 - Travolta: "I don't agree" with the CoS I've got a feeling Anna would have told them where to go before allowing them to "Help" her. LULZ
Re: 1983 - Travolta: "I don't agree" with the CoS Keep in mind this was March 1977, a few months before the FBI raids, which exposed the ugliness of Scientology like never before.
Re: 1983 - Travolta: "I don't agree" with the CoS i've always assumed this reference was to his first made-for-tv movie, boy in the plastic bubble that was released in 76. but i could never figure out which actress it might of been The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976) (TV)
Re: 1983 - Travolta: "I don't agree" with the CoS IMDB has "The Devil's Rain" predating Boy in the Plastic Bubble. Stars one Joan Prather. Not a real uncommon name, but the age and time frame fit. Plus she's a "celebrity." The Devil's Rain (1975) Joan Prather - Scientology Service Completions | Truth About Scientology Statistics Project
Re: 1983 - Travolta: "I don't agree" with the CoS Attack, never defend. Isn't this article pre-Davey? He didn't like how it was being run in 1983. How does he feel about how it's being run now, 26 years later? Ironic choice of words on yellow banner too.
Joan Prather is the former Scientologist John Travolta says introduced him to Scientology: Travolta, born to an Irish Catholic mother in Edgewood, New Jersey, was introduced to Scientology through his co-star Joan Prather while filming 1975's "The Devil's Rain." "I wasn't well and she gave me what's called 'an assist,'" Travolta told the Telegraph in a rare conversation about a religion known for shrouding its inner workings in secrecy. "I got well very quickly after that, but I mean 30 minutes later." John Travolta’s sexuality has been questioned in the media for years, but while on staff, I never heard anything about it. He’d been brought into Scientology by actress Joan Prather, someone I’d had a mad crush on in high school, when she appeared daily as a go-go dancer on a TV music show out of Dallas. I figured if Travolta (right, using e-meter) was dating Prather, he was quite a lucky guy. http://www.themortonreport.com/cele...problem-part-2-lrhs-lies-and-secrets-unravel/
This was about the time that Mary Sue Hubbard was sent to federal prison, after some delay. Could he have been distancing himself because of that? Or was it the crack down of late 1982 to which he was objecting? Or both? Or neither? Only people inside Scientology knew about the late 1982 crackdown, but lots of people outside of Scientology knew about Mary Sue Hubbard being sent to prison. How do we know he wasn't just distancing himself from Mary Sue Hubbard and the other jailed Guardians Office people?
