The key phrase in the item you linked is actually this: "Poll-takers apply various statistical manipulations to their survey results in an attempt to compensate for those who are missed in phone surveys." Which is kinda just tacked on towards the end. Any half decent polling organisation has teams of statisticians working on the weightings to adjust for any limitations in their data gathering methods. Polling orgs make money by getting things right, most of the time - if the method (including how they gather data AND how they adjust the raw data) starts to fail, in order to stay in business they must adjust the method. tl;dr polling orgs are the experts at dealing with polling limitations.
Re: Nevada: Sharron Angle Running For Senate yeah....the choice between reed and angle is almost unpalatable. however, the choice should still be fairly easy, even if you traditionally vote republican. i think if angle does get voted in, her radical views would soon neuter her politically; i doubt she'd have any real traction to get any of her ideas through. you can't function on that level without having a coalition of people willing to support your measures, and i doubt she would get enough together to (lol) do away with the department of education, among other things.

She had Angle on a "kooky" graph or whatever and showed the 14mil. She showed some other loon on the graph that raised 150K. Forgot his name. she saidd something to the effect that even if Angle was to come out with even loonier statements, she still would raise 50 mil. SAD (and alraming) what people throw their money at.
