Someone in Oz that has contacts with these news organizations may want to point them at:

Scientology's Education Fronts - Applied Scholastics International

    And:

COS Organization Chart with footnotes - Why We Protest Wiki

And from the 1993 once secret $cientology/IRS closing agreement:

I love it how it was a Minister of Parliament who submitted the complaint. The tide is turning.

This isn't the first time John Kaye has done something either. I remember back after Xenuphon gave his speak Kaye came out and said the NSW State should do something. Not to mention that Youth For Human Rights has been kicked out of all Victorian schools. And now Sydney council doesn't particularily like their stress tests, one was shut down 2 and a half hours early.

It seems ALL levels of government here are doing something about this. The tides are definately turning.

    What does that mean?

"...did not teach Scientology as a religion"

Then what is it? Is it or is it not a religion?

I guess COS has a new motto now? KSH = Keep Scientology Hidden

It [strike]works[/strike] is a secret and it helps people.

This New Zealand website lumps together on the same web page:

    Code:
    http://www.rehabnz.co.nz/
    The Way to Happiness
    Narconon
    Criminon
    Applied Scholastics
    L. Ron Hubbard
    The Athena School
The Childrens "Set a Good Example" campaign
Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE)

I wonder if Scilon Kevin Owen will get a visit from his local OSA goons over this web page. I just adore narcissistic idiot scilons who blow the cover on scilon front groups.

It means they still think their front groups trick enough people into Scientology by saying "oh no, this is just some other unrelated Hubbard Technology he developed"

Athena was the name of a Hubbard ship, Sea Org, Guardian's Office etc.

Very relevant to a Scientology activity.

It's a floor wax AND a dessert topping!

And just because they're not hiding behind religion in this case, because they're trying for the secular moneyz, doesn't mean they won't infest children with their moonbatty crank belief system where thoughts have mass and your kid will grow up completely unable to compete in the real world of college thanks to some stupid notions a drugged up sci-fi writer pulled out of his ass while flying on cocaine, amphetamines and a host of other pharmaceuticals.

Yeah, I think parents ought to know about the nature of Hubbard's teachings before signing their kids up for this school. Like everything else Scientology related, making an informed decision is damn near impossible.

The funny thing is, without the protection of their religious posturing, Scientology endeavors are extremely vulnerable to public scrutiny. Nobody in their right mind would send a kid to a school where the whack theories of a college dropout are taught as fact.

That improbable paragraph about wavelength and milliseconds comes to mind. It's like the only thing Hubbard learned from physics is words he could use to make his followers feel smart. Never mind that the crap is meaningless bullshit.

Of course, being Scientologists, KSW is their prime directive, they'll probably continue distributing the fliers regardless of what any authority has to say. They are the ultimate authorities, yanno. Never mind the delusions of competency!

Athena school in the news again today, in an article on private school fees, reveals that the school will get a $50,000 federal dole out.

Private school fees rise despite federal funding

I went to Newington. All of aside from Pymble Ladies College, all of those schools are within a 10-15km radius of eachother. They're all on the same train line at least. Dunno if that's related. Ironically John Kaye has spoken out against Scientology (or one of its front groups at one point).

As for the $50K, it's a LOT smaller amount than they got from the last round which was a few million.

    ---EDIT---

Interestingly, Newington is a school of over 1,000 students (1,500 if you include the two primary schools), while the Athena School is less than 100. Strange that a school that is more than ten times the size gets only $9,000 more in funding.
  20. Re: Oz: School rapped over failure to declare Scientology links

I think they mean that a Catholic school would teach Catholic teachings and call it "Religion" as the subject on your report card, thus Athena School does not teach Scientology as their "Religion" course.

just my guess as to what they mean.

Re: Oz: School rapped over failure to declare Scientology links

I daresay the only students there are Scientologists. Nobody in their right mind would send their child to a school that doesn't teach the normal curriculum in this shithole of a state.

    ---EDIT---

And that video is from the Athena School.

You must be new here...we got aussies up the wazoo here! We've been enjoying the show launched by anonymous and exes. We love Nick Xenophon and the fact that his name is awful close to xenu makes us love him harder.

Hook up with your /b/rothers down under. It's on you guys to keep the issue alive, but things do seem to be rolling harder in Oz than anyplace else at the moment. Look at the recent story of the confiscation of Scientology literature in the aboriginal community in northern territorys. The health department was shocked by the unscientific garbage in those booklets and ordered the Sci to quit handing them out.

I hope someone has contacted that health department to open a dialogue on Scientology quackery, with the express purpose of making Narconon GTFO. It's run by the same quack theories and is patently dangerous. Yet, they continue to exist for some reason...NNs are a big moneymaker for the cult.

Quebec is about to come down on Narconon Trois Rivieres like a sack of hammers.

The dismantling of the cult is on schedule and below budget.

Re: Oz: School rapped over failure to declare Scientology links

    This guy speaks the truth.

Narconon is barely an issue here but it's still one we need to tackle. As for their Applied Spastics program, two schools with less than 100 students all up should be dealt with swiftly. The Education Department in NSW is stuffed and with an election due around March, we should see possibilities opening up for changes to their funding.

As for the cult itself, we're going to their NYE event on the 30th, hopefully we'll see how small their numbers are. We've yet to see any more than 150-200 (at a very LIBERAL estimate) at any of their events this year, the numbers look closer to 100-150 at most.

  29. FWIW, woman in video was principal of Athena school and is now ED of Sydney Day org in Hercules St. Clare Holbrook.

Vid is shot in the playground of school at Newtown and there are a few non-scilon kids there just as there are some in Melbourne's Yarralinda school. But mostly it's scilon kids.

Head of ApS in Oz etc. (one Brendan Merrick) told me in 2007 that he was writing Knowledge Reports on scilon parents if they didn't send their kids to Athena school - when I was head of Narconon Oz etc.we met regularly to discuss common problems and try to help each other in our respective front groups.
