Yes, I have a recording and I will post a link so that you can download it. My recording has 2 small defects, but it's generally okay.

Excellent, mine has a massive 30 minute chunk out of it because an electrician pulled my power!

For info. New Zealand public benefit test is included in the sixth link here:
    Information sheet archive

    It includes:

We'll have to get onto that at some point, but the cult here is effectively dead - and it'll probably be easier to make them sit up and take notice after the Australian evaluation is completed.

But basically Ferris has said he's okay with the NZ version, and the NZ version DOES consider harm.

Many thanks to you and others who recorded this. The part where they spoke of me (which probably no one else would have noticed) could be found on video 2 of 9 of the scientology testimony. It was minuite 3:35-4:13.

lol how they try to wash away all true statements of corporate fraud and deception by saying the IRS somehow determined everything I ever wrote about is wrong. I will discuss this tonight.

The little part I enjoy the most is how they said I was an employee back then. How interesting that a Sea Org member in the very corporation Marc Headly was in (C of S International) would be called an "employee" while in the Headly case it is stated there were no employees.

Gawd but they do have a hard time keeping their lies straight.

I'm liking where they say they charge GST (sales tax) but also have a GST exemption. Probably just another (illegal) way to rape their public's wallets.

I'd noticed that too. They collect it but they are not required to pay it to the government. Which means they are collecting an extra 10% for their services, that they claim is a tax, that goes straight to them and NOT the taxpayer.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

Some points out of the hearing with Co$.

    1. As suspected the scilons are gunning for tax exemption in the UK under the 2006 changes in tax legislation which puts the advancement of religion in the frame. They are working on religious recognition in the UK for this very reason. We need to work to counter this.

    2. The New Zealand charities commission needs work to reverse their decision.

Thanks a lot for this. Do you mind if I put this on my Vimeo account, or are you going to do a non-segmented upload to your own vimeo account? I think an un-segmented version should be available somewhere.

Also I want to cross-post this post from ESMB:

Serious lulz, I can't believe they brought so many high level Scientologists down to watch their leaders get SPANKED.

True proof that OT powers don't count for shit.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

What I wish the committee picked up on was that the CoS was trying to discredit Larry Brennan based on how many years ago he was there, and then insisting how relevant the High Court ruling from just as many years ago is.

Thanks for this. Have crossposted to kiwi forum with suggestions that Ex's register a complaint with the charities commission. Strongest point seemed to be around the accessibility of religious benefits - i.e. - so-called benefit doesn't count if it's priced out-of-reach of your average punter.

  17. Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

I noticed it at the time and presumed it would be aimed at you but couldn't believe even Virginia would say something so stupid.

Mike Ferris was comedy gold - I started laughing when he entered the room!

Ms McBride was seriously out of her depth - I've never seen a barrister fidget so much - she was seriously unable to sit still - her feet were moving ALL the time and her glasses got more airtime than any other use - she was twirling them around heaps.

If you watch carefully, you'll see how the cult were gotten to footbullet themselves by clever questioning into saying they would have no problems with the Bill by the end of their time, saying basically that they had turned 180% and that their bawwwwing was now wasted as they'd had to concede they could live with the legislation if they were all they claim to be.

Nic was awesome and Cameron was too. Chair could see cult's true colours but kept his cool but was outraged by cult lawyer into seriously bitch-slapping her down when she attacked the INQUIRY as "unconstitutional."

For the interested, cult had a lawyer sitting behind and to the left plus a legal aide plus Sei Cato (was Broadhurst - former wife of Nick and OSA person who did "reply" recently on COSRECI stuff) plus three OATEEES in the front row. Sei is Japanese girl who delivered several notes to OSA folk.

Cult had around 30 OATEES in the room to help out - did you see how OATEE they were and how their supapowaz had us all shaking?

Post-game was the Eaglehawk Hotel just out of Canberra - a great day for all of us "wogs." :D

Too many highlights to remember - traumatic to begin with but soooo worth it by the end of day.

Buy in popcorn now - cult's words today are going to haunt them badly VERY SOON!

  28. Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

Not fucking good enough, Scientolgists - not by a long way.

Old rope and snake oil are not public benefits.

Paul, I thought you did very well oiverall - I just wanted to hear you say what a bunch of fraudulent crap Narconon really is.

Janette was very moving and reminded all there why everyone is in that room - it's not about fancy-schmancy lolyers and nuances of parliamentary protocol.

Bracing for epic Anonymous forensic dissection of every lie and obfuscation, Larry Bren and Doug Cameron. A bientot, scilons.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

So the scilons are expecting to over turn the 1999 decision using the 2006 legislation. Looking at the guidance notes with respect to the advancement of religion for the public benefit it isn't going to be that simple for them.

There are many more references to the "scientology decision" suffice to say the guidance regarding the advancement of religion for the public benefit takes in to account specifically the cult of scientology and the "scientology decision" which the commission takes as the basis for law.

Naturally they will object to this and baw and hope to change it. One hopes they will not be able to.

For those keen to read the whole document, which refuses copypasta (hence only a couple of the many quotes included above), you can find it here:

The UK Charity Commission reps were asked about this yesterday and they seemed to think the relevant law involved wasn't changed.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

Looking at what I found out I believe I know why they said that. The law is being interpreted using the "scientology decision", which is nice. :)

Was up until 4 this morning watching- many lovely ROFLMAO moments. Thank you $ci for all the lulz.
  36. Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

If this is the best CoS can do, it's got to be game over. Their name has surely reached F.U. on the tone scale, namely that is legal reputation poison that the better lawyers are steering well clear of. They have the funds to pay for anyone, and they end up with this.

Or, better yet, the truth is snowballing and their entire philosophy is being destroyed in front of our (and their) eyes. Note that large group sitting behind the panel... the CoS brought in 30 OTs to "do the shit OTs do" and save the day. For those 30 sitting there this has to be a devastating humiliation. It's a con, and everyone is starting to notice, even their members.

Shocking bullshit. Lies. Time wasting. Refusing to back down even though it's clear to anyone that their positions are untenable. Bullies might prey on the weak, that can only work in an enclosed environment. The law is an entirely different beast.

They were made to look ignorant, deceitful, malicious and dishonest.

    So win.

    can someone update the op
and make a small tl:dr of this?
  38. Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

auditing = public benefit = getting to know God = public benefit = $$$ = auditing = public benefit...

    Wow.

    I'll take that on notice.

So fair game doesn't apply? No, I've never heard of it.

That's not going to work anymore, luv. Shockingly brazen liars. Four obviously immoral people. So that's "going OT" then. Where do I sign up?

    I'll take that on notice.

Income year 1, $2.7 million. The next, <$400k. So how come? Apparently, "the exchange rate." The New Zealand currency would have to have lost 70%. Truly priceless stuff.

We can take that on notice.

Scientologists do a lot of good works in the communities... we're happy to talk.

If you do all the things you say you do, you'll have nothing to fear from a benefits test... I don't know. I can take that on notice. I'll have to study more to answer that question.

Notice how the room empties out after the CoS finishes.

    Epic.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

So Louise McBride says that all religions should have charity status and be tax exempt, just because they are religions, i.e. because they promote ideas, that are unprovable and for which there is no evidence. This is what religion in its broadest sense, as she would like to understand it, is.
What's so special and beneficial about promoting an irrational, unprovable belief, that it deserves to be subsidized by the tax payer, i wanna know.

Re: Public Benefit Test - hearing CoS after lunch

    Watched it now (thanks Zent!).

McBride made one very bad error (actually a heap, but one stands out). She went snippy and arrogant on Cameron and Xenophon. That did not work well...
