You guys should watch the House of Representatives now its 2pm,
    Parliament of Australia: Live Broadcasting

I doubt there'll be anything about scientology but you'll see the prime minister, the opposition leader and a bunch of adults acting like kids

Thanks for the thanks... but I don't need it. Anon is a collaborative effort. If it wasn't for the petition idea, I'd never had said what I did.

Goddamm, if you knew anything about parlimentry procedure and/or Robert's Rules of Order, this current senate Q/A hearing is like a fucking professional wrestling match.

So, you lot, we get another day - this is GOOD.

Everyone should print themselves a single copy of this

    35d97w0.png

and emerge from your basement for long enough to get any friends / family / neighbours etc they might have talked to about the cult to sign it, and then fax (or scan/email) then post off the original.

re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

I got confirmation from Anon101 (the originator of the epetition) that a copy is being sent, or already has been by now, to Xenophon.
    Anon delivers with OZsomeness.

exOT8Michael, tell that nigger to send another about an hour before senate begins tomorrow. I can guarantee at least another 300 people will sign.

The vote regarding a Senate Inquiry will not take place tomorrow, Tuesday 24th. Stay tuned for ongoing updates about the schedule.

Now is the time to keep the pressure on.

The CoS are currently winning as regards number of emails to the Senators 7:1.

Time for the legion to awaken!

Edit: The delay is not a bad thing, so don't jump to conclusions either way.

there's still a couple days this week I believe

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

Sunday/Monday put off to Monday/Tuesday put off to Tuesday/Wednesday...

    Why?
  23. _You_ Member

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

He's delaying it because he doesn't have the numbers yet. In case you didn't notice, on Monday the family of the late Edward McBride called on the Prime Minister to support an inquiry into the cult. I assume this was why Xenophon delayed it to Tuesday. He delayed it again, possibly to allow more time for gathering support.

Nick Xenophon Church of Scientology parliamentary inquiry

Better to keep lobbying and only call for a vote when enough Senators get it

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

turns out senators are like everyone else, they skip work on mondays and don't ever go on fridays, weekends start on thursdays.

likely he'll come through soon enough, but we're impatient

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

Thanks for the link "_Bruce_". I'll review the thread.

Red, I'm a huge supporter of this cause, regardless of my pessimistic ways. I just don't want to see this fail. If Nick is an honest politician, he will fight. But he doesn't have much time. All the old farts and career politicians will have had their fill of Global Warming crap and other "more important" topics. You think they will care when its his turn to speak?

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

I'd be curious to know why too. Is this Sen. Xenophon requesting a postponement, or is it simply a case of other business taking precedence?

If it's the former, and he's bolstering his case and support, is there any specific material that we can dig up that would be of particular value to him?

    Mods wot noes?

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

aye, I'm a chronic optimist. It'll kill me one day

anyway, I was just pointing out that there's still 2 days for this to happen and he does seem fairly set on it.

regardless of weather or not his fellow politicians pay attention, the cult's screwed. The media's waiting just as impatiently on this as we are (birds of a feather)

Just seen question answered. Above bit still stands though.

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

From our perspective it has to be a good thing. More time equals more people we can try to lobby support from. See this thread: http://forums.whyweprotest.net/318-...upport-needed-senator-xenu-56834/#post1071822

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

So is this one of those threads that has had it's title changed so many times we don't know how many days it is supposed to be postponed so we don't know when the real date is ?
  31. RedOrbifold Member

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

honestly, the original post has none of its original content.

might as well just change the post's owner to xenuphon

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

I am guessing OZ doesn't have Thankgiving this week?
  33. El Diablo Member

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

    Yeah we don't do thanksgiving.

And the whole CPRS issue is not only monopolizing parliament's time and attention, but also the media - so postponing this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Heads up - message from Aaron...

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

I agree the cult may be screwed... but if the scilons are whipping up emails 7:1, it might not be as simple as we thought.

    /tinfoil

What if Nick is facing oppression?

    /tinfoil off

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

I dont think I have seen this before, but I just got an e-mail confirmation from an Aussie Senator, that says the greens will be supporting Senator Xenophon.

Is this new ? and how big are the greens ?

  38. _You_ Member

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

    Five senators including Bob Brown.
  39. _You_ Member

Re: Senate Vote - Delayed for a few days

This news came out yesterday. Senator Bob Brown, who leads the Greens, appeared with Nick X at the press conference for the brother of Edward McBride.

It's significant that the Greens have nailed their colours to the post. Bob Brown actually said he would be angry if the inquiry didn't go ahead because it's so important.

We need either the government of the coalition.

The coalition (Liberal and National Parties) have said they won't support it. Cowards.
The government (Australian Labor Party) hasn't firmed up their view.

So is it like this is being supported by Dennis Kucinich ?

Denis Kucinich, don't be ashamed every Senate has one.
