He is SO amazing! I am very moved by this man and I have no doubt Aussies & especially Ex's are more moved and very proud. Too many of our young people fall victim to cults and the attitudes most people have about people who join cults, "you made your own bed now lie in it" has to stop. Sadly, in most cases it doesn't stop until one of their sons or daughters becomes a victim of a cult.

yes I agree the anon interview was good, whoever it was put our case forward very well.

Senator Xenophon has become one of my real life heroes - he does things because they are the right thing to do, not because they are easy or comfortable. That sort of integrity is rare in Australian politics.

But yes. Great interview and it shows how much he truly cares about this issue and the people effected by Scientology and other organizations like it. Definitely on board with the idea of cult education and inoculating children (and people, in general) against this sort of thing, how to be aware and protect yourself and your family.

Hey guise cool down. He's a doing a fine job, but he's a politician and he's getting his share of publicity and potential votes from all this. It's a good combination, doing his job and getting a political reward, but it's far from being a hero.

He's still doing a fine job and deserves the recognition, but please cool down and keep up a little healthy tinfoil...

If I was going to put anyone's picture on my t-shirt it'd be Xenophone's.

Yeah, he's a polititian and is getting a lot of publicity but from what the Aussie exes have said about him I don't think that's why he is doing this.

They feel he really cares about them and that's good enough for me. There have been a few politicians here or there who really want to make a difference. I think Xenophon is one of them.

So maybe it's too early to call him a hero out loud, but I'm still leaning toward it in my mind.

That's why he's my very first avatar.

It would be great if the general public would turn out as well as anons. I know that there are many "just plain folks" who find Scientology abuses as horrific as we do. How to goad them into action?

Maybe contact churches and civic groups?

When Xenophon suggests "I think if we can get a group of people out the front of Parliament House and actually eyeball the politicians ....." I think he is mindful of the NYPA request and is being polite. What he really means is "Get your fucken asses over there."
